Looking from different point of view


Altrosguardo is a design studio in which young designers pay attention on reuse, since 2008. They give other funcions and new life to used object, that marked an age in lifestyle history.

Opportunities come from problems




Michelle Brand is a designer who thought an aesthetic and decorative fabric from which most people in the western world would perceive to be waste/rubbish. The fabric is composed of plastic drinks bottle bases, which have been cut, sanded and then tagged together, to create for example lampshade, curtains and booths.
She said: "I love seeing design opportunities where most people only see problems".

Achitecture: glass bottles in architecture



Glass bottles, apparently objects that, after they lose contact with the liquid they contain, they lose their funtion, now they are having a new use in architecture. Glass bottles are old and used objects that have a new opportunity of being use.

Architecture: garbage-house by Michael Reynolds


Ecological house done with tires, aluminium cans and glass bottles (tucson Arizona, USA): in this case it is example of old objects that are acquiring new meanings and new function. They are old objects that are also new.

A new oportunity for things

The following are examples of objects that have changed their function, and consecuently are between old and new, because they represent an object constructed with old objects that before were used with different purposes and now are destinated to do other actions.

A new opotunity for old things:

Decorative objects and sculpture through the reuse and recycling of sports equipment such as skateboards.
Giving to old objects a new oportunity of having a longer life.
